Daft Poet Speaks: Just Be A Girl
You want me to just be a girl
and fit into that perfect stereotype
be ripe
for your picking quiet ad polite
the peaceful face of grace
You want me to just be a girl
So you can out me in my place
So you can retrace and own everything I have shown you
Well that was mine and mine alone
How am I gonna grow if you put me in a tomb you own
What I showed you was to see if you see me be
Do you see me be?
Cuz I see you do
And you want me to just be some girl,
Is that true?
Someone you can twirl around
Someone you can take to town
Someone you can posses when I sleep with you
you want someone who can paint the perfect face
set the perfect place at a table for two
And a twenty one to twenty six inch waste
preferably that’ll do
You want a girl who can please you
a girl who can tease you
and you make it sound so easy
You do
You do
But I find it hard,
so here’s what we’re gonna do
You can be the girl,
I’ll be the boy
And that’ll do, now won’t it,
That’ll do.
As you try my shoes on for size
Let me memorize you with my mew disguise
I don’t paint my face
Now let me put you in your place
Or where those cups that prop my boobs up
With under wire that pinches me right there,
All the time
It doesn’t make me feel fine,
And if in the end
This kind of use makes my boobies sag
Well. . . Then
More power to me
for letting my boobies naturally be the way they would have been before we confined our body to lines drawn by men
now I choose to redraw myself anew as a human being
with sexual prowl
A crazy goddess worshipper who will howl at the full moon
